Problem to solve
Customer needed to transfer hydrochloric (muriatic) acid, that is an important laboratory reagent and industrial chemical. It is colorless and ultra-pungent solution. Being a strong acid, it is highly corrosive, skin contact with muriatic acid causes severe burns and repeated exposure to the skin will cause dermatitis. For this reason, it is considered among the most hazardous chemicals.
Technical solution
We delivered a complete loading bay to the customer: two loading arms (right and left), folding stair, control panel and grounding system. Due to the high level of corrosivity of the acid, both arms are PTFE lined. It serves as a barrier for parts in contact with corrosive acids.
Loading arms are equipped with pneumatic cylinders, that allow automatic movements and actuated valves. The terminal drop pipe is equipped with a fiberglass cone; we used this material because it is not subject to corrosivity of the hydrochloric acid.
On the platform it is installed a control panel that monitors all the loading bay.
Conclusions
The results are excellent, and the station works properly. We managed to satisfy all the customer needs.
