19 Top Loading Arms and Metering Skids for Phosphoric Acid in the Middle East

PROBLEM TO SOLVE
Customer needed to transfer phosphoric acid, also known as orthophosphoric acid. It is an irritant or corrosive to the skin, eyes, and other mucous membranes. Despite this, it is less corrosive than other mineral acids.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
To do this, we designed, manufactured, and tested 19 top loading arms and metering skids.
- Loading arm is equipped with a pneumatic cylinder for vertical movements, actuated by a remote pendant controller.
- The loading arm is insulated with Rockwool 40 mm and cladded, to avoid heat exchanges.
- Drop pipe is equipped with a vapor recovery cone, connected to a hose.
- There is also a parking tundish to gather all the drops of product.
- The role of the skid is to meter the product flow, that is managed by pneumatic actuated valves.
- Electrical heat tracing helps to maintain the product at a steady operating temperature, to guarantee safety and correct working. Control panel monitors both loading arm and metering skid.
CONCLUSIONS:
The results are excellent, and the station works properly. We managed to satisfy all the customer needs.
The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was thoroughly performed and witnessed by our client, completed with a clean criminal record!
