Customers involved
We worked with MAIRE TECNIMONT, a prestigious engineering society with contacts all over the world. Final customers are AMUR GCC, managed by Gazprom, an important Russian multinational company, APOC (Advanced Petrochemical Company) located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, SEI (Sinopec Engineering Incorporation) located in People’s Republic of China.
Problems to solve
Customer needed to unload TEAL from ISO tanks and casks to a tank farm in a safe and fast way. TEAL is a highly pyrophoric liquid; it instantly ignites on contact with air. Furthermore, the unloading bay had a limitation in terms of overall dimension to let the loading arm operate from its parking position to its working position.

Technical solution
To do this, we designed, manufactured, and tested an unloading station that allow to unload TEAL from the liquid arm by pressurizing the tank with Nitrogen from the N2 arm.
Such loading arms are equipped with a special type of swivel joints (with maximum safety) with a back-up seals. Furthermore, there is a continuous fluxing of nitrogen gas inside the swivel joint, between primary and secondary seal. In case of leakage, nitrogen serves as a barrier to stop the TEAL.
Also, the CONTROL PANEL, has a leakage detection system that allow to detect the potential leakage and inform the control room to adopt the safety countermeasures.
Conclusions
The results are excellent, and the station works properly. We managed to satisfy all the customer needs.
